A Delegation of College of Agronomy visited some scientific research institutes in Kazakhstan

In response to the national "Belt and Road" initiative and to further strengthen the educational and scientific research cooperation and exchanges between our college and Kazakhstani universities, and to continue to promote the construction of Sino-Kazakh crop production technology demonstration parks, at the invitation of Kazakhstani agricultural universities and research institutes, from November 5th to 10th,  Professor Shan Weixing , Professor Ji Wanquan, Associate Professors Liu Yaobin and Zhang Peng visited and exchanged with crop research institutes, Kazakhstani National Agricultural University, Koshtanai State University, and Safalin Agricultural Technology University for a five-day visit.

During the visit, the expert group had in-depth exchanges with relevant leaders of various universities and research institutes on the "Sino-Kazakh Crop Green Production Joint Laboratory", Sino-Kazakh Crop Production Technology Demonstration Park, joint education, youth teacher and student exchange, and other aspects, and initially reached a cooperation agreement. Accompanied by Rauan Zhapayev, a researcher at the Crop Research Institute in Almaty, the visiting group inspected the experimental base of the Crop Institute, exchanged views on joint wheat breeding, and provided guidance on local wheat breeding work. Accompanied by Professor Nugmanov Almabek, the dean of the Agricultural School of Koshtanai State University, the group visited local agricultural enterprises and exchanged ideas with enterprise leaders on the problems existing in agricultural production. In the capital Astana, the group visited the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan and reported on the overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration park construction and the trip to the embassy's agricultural officials.

Since 2017, the College of Agriculture has responded to the "Belt and Road" initiative, carried out the construction of overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration parks in Kazakhstan, Belarus and other places, and strengthened cooperation in the field of agriculture through talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and school-enterprise cooperation. This visit has laid a solid foundation for the follow-up work between the College of Agriculture and relevant universities in Kazakhstan, and played an important supporting role in promoting the development of agricultural science and education in Belt and Road countries.
