•Molecular basis of quantitative disease resistance to maize pathogens, mainly focus on Gibberella stalk rot, Fusarium ear rot, southern leaf blight, and gray leaf spot

•Molecular mechanisms underlying quantitative disease resistance

•Genetic improvement of disease resistance using molecular and transgenic approaches
